Zendesk Pricing and Cost by Plan, Per Agent

Zendesk runs $19 to $115 per agent a month on its visible cards, but its own pricing data carries a $169 Suite Enterprise rate and a Suite Growth plan that is no longer shown. Here is every published number, plus the two meters that do not have one.

Zendesk's published rates run from $19 per agent a month on Support Team to $115 on Suite Professional, billed annually, with Suite Enterprise shown as Talk to Sales. That seat price is the only number Zendesk publishes, and it is not your bill. Two separate meters run on top of it: automated resolutions from AI agents, and consumption on App Builder, Action Builder and Voice above plan allowances. Zendesk publishes no rate for either. Everything below was read off zendesk.com/pricing in August 2026, including the plan cards, the comparison table and the pricing FAQ, and verified on two independent fetches with different browsers.

How much does Zendesk cost?

Four plans, two billing cycles. Here is the full published lineup, per agent per month.

PlanBilled annuallyBilled monthlyReal annual discount
Support Team$19$2524.0%
Suite Team$55$6920.3%
Suite Professional (Most Popular)$115$14922.8%
Suite Enterprise + Copilot$169, card shows Talk to Sales$219, card shows Talk to Sales22.8%

The banner above the cards advertises "20% off annual". Run the arithmetic on Zendesk's own pairs and the discount is actually 20% to 24% depending on which plan you pick, and it is smallest on Suite Team, the plan most teams start on. Support Team gets the best annual deal in the lineup at 24% off. That is our calculation from their published figures, and it is worth doing before you assume the toggle saves the same everywhere.

What are the Zendesk pricing plans?

Zendesk splits into two families and the names do most of the work. Support plans cover email ticketing on its own. Suite plans add the other channels and the AI layer.

Support Team, $19. Email and ticketing, ticket routing, prebuilt analytics dashboards, pre-written responses, customer context, automations and triggers. This is a shared inbox with structure, and for a small team handling email only it is genuinely enough.

Suite Team, $55. Everything above plus AI agents, AI knowledge base, AI action builder, omnichannel routing, messaging and live chat, and telephony. The jump from $19 to $55 is where Zendesk stops being a ticket queue and starts being a service platform, and it is the step most growing teams actually need.

Suite Professional, $115. Adds admin copilot, AI app builder, AI writing tools, AI quick reports, skills-based routing and an IVR phone tree. It also carries HIPAA compliance and data location options, which matters more than the feature list suggests if you are in US healthcare or under a data residency requirement.

Suite Enterprise + Copilot. Adds intelligent triage, auto assist, generative AI for voice, approval workflows, a sandbox environment and custom agent roles, with Copilot bundled in rather than sold separately.

How much does Zendesk cost per year?

Per-agent-per-month numbers are hard to feel. Here is the same lineup as an annual bill at list, on annual billing, before a single add-on.

AgentsSupport TeamSuite TeamSuite ProfessionalSuite Enterprise
5$1,140$3,300$6,900$10,140
10$2,280$6,600$13,800$20,280
25$5,700$16,500$34,500$50,700
50$11,400$33,000$69,000$101,400

The monthly-billing penalty scales with headcount and gets expensive quietly. Ten agents on Suite Professional cost $13,800 a year on the annual plan and $17,880 paying month to month, a difference of $4,080 for the same product. If you are trialing Zendesk on monthly billing while you decide, that is fine. If you are still on monthly billing eighteen months later because nobody revisited it, you have paid for a headcount you do not have.

What does Zendesk Suite Enterprise cost?

The card says Talk to Sales, but Zendesk's own pricing page carries the number: $169 per agent a month on annual billing, $219 monthly. The same pair appears in the plan card data and again in the full comparison table further down the page, and the equivalent EUR and GBP figures sit alongside them.

This is useful for one specific reason. Going into an enterprise negotiation without a list price means anchoring on whatever the rep opens with. Knowing that Zendesk's own published data prices Suite Enterprise at $169 gives you a reference point, and it tells you roughly where a discount is being measured from. Fifty agents at that rate is $101,400 a year at list, which is the number to have in your head before the conversation starts.

Nearly every comparison article you will find still describes Zendesk as running "$19 to $115" and stops there, because that is where the visible cards stop. It is a fair description of what is displayed and an incomplete description of what is published.

Can you still get Zendesk Suite Growth?

Yes, though you would not know it from the pricing page. Suite Growth is not one of the four cards, but it is still carried in Zendesk's plan data at $89 per agent a month annual and $115 monthly, and Zendesk's own ROI calculator still offers Suite Growth in its plan picker alongside Team, Professional and Enterprise.

The gap that creates is real money. Between Suite Team at $55 and Suite Professional at $115 there is nothing on the cards, so a team that needs SLAs and better self-service but not skills-based routing or an IVR tree gets pushed up a 109% price step. Growth sits in the middle at $89. For 25 agents that is $26,700 a year against $34,500 on Professional, a $7,800 difference for a plan the page no longer shows you.

Ask for it by name. The worst outcome is being told it is not available on your purchase path, which costs you one email.

How does Zendesk AI agent pricing work?

Zendesk bills AI agents on outcomes, not seats. Its pricing FAQ states that AI agents are included in every Suite and Support plan with pricing based on the outcomes they deliver, and that automated resolutions are the unit of measurement used to bill your account. You pay when the AI agent resolves a request without escalating to a human.

Read that carefully, because "included in every plan" means included access to a meter rather than included usage. Zendesk markets AI agents as resolving up to 80% or more of service issues. If that works as advertised on a queue of any size, the resolutions become a substantial line item, and Zendesk publishes no rate for them anywhere on the pricing page. Third-party estimates circulate in the $1.50 to $2.00 per resolution range, but those are reported figures from resellers and competitors rather than Zendesk's own, and we could not find the rate published first-party. Ask for it in writing during the sales conversation, and ask what happens above your committed volume.

There is a second meter most buyers miss entirely. The same FAQ notes that App Builder, Action Builder and Voice are billed on consumption exceeding plan allowances. So a Zendesk contract can carry three separate cost drivers: seats you can forecast, resolutions you cannot, and consumption you probably have not modeled. Usage-based lines that nobody watches are exactly the kind of spend worth putting a real-time budget alert against, because the first time most teams notice a meter moving is on the invoice.

What do Zendesk add-ons cost?

Three featured add-ons are published, all priced per agent per month on annual billing, and they stack on top of whatever plan you are on.

Add-onPrice per agent a monthWhat it adds
Copilot$50AI assistance across the agent workspace
Workforce Engagement Bundle$50Quality assurance and workforce management
Contact Center$83Complex contact center capability

A Suite Professional seat with all three attached costs $298 per agent a month, which is $3,576 per agent a year. For a 20 agent team that is $71,520 against $27,600 for the plain Professional plan. The add-ons cost more than the software they attach to, and because they are priced per agent rather than per account, they scale with every hire.

Is Zendesk Copilot worth buying as an add-on?

Usually not, and the arithmetic is unusually clean. Suite Professional at $115 plus Copilot at $50 is $165 per agent a month. Suite Enterprise, which bundles Copilot, is $169 in Zendesk's own published data. Four dollars separates them, and Enterprise also carries intelligent triage, auto assist, generative AI for voice, approval workflows, a sandbox and custom agent roles.

If you are on Professional and considering Copilot, price Enterprise in the same conversation. It is entirely possible that Enterprise is the cheaper answer once you account for what you were about to bolt on, and it is a rare case where the top tier is the value option rather than the upsell.

Does Zendesk have a free plan?

No. Zendesk offers a 14 day free trial and no free tier on Support or Suite. That is a meaningful difference from much of the category, where a free plan lets you run a real workload before committing. With Zendesk you are choosing between a two week evaluation and an annual contract, so use the trial on your actual ticket volume rather than on test data.

Which Zendesk plan do you need for HIPAA?

Suite Professional, at $115 per agent a month. HIPAA compliance and data location options are listed among Suite Professional's features, which puts a hard floor under what a US healthcare team can spend. A ten person support team that would otherwise be comfortable on Suite Team at $6,600 a year is looking at $13,800 instead, and that is before the business associate agreement conversation.

The same applies to data residency requirements. If you have committed to customers that their data stays in a particular region, the data location option that makes it true sits on the same tier.

What the seat price does not buy

Zendesk prices the handling of tickets very well. What no help desk price list covers is the question every support leader eventually gets asked, which is why the tickets exist at all.

A support queue is the most honest feedback channel most companies have, and it is almost never read as one. Ticket data tells you volume, first response time and CSAT. It does not tell you that a third of last quarter's contacts trace back to one confusing step in onboarding, or that the customers filing them are the same ones who quietly stopped logging in. Answering that means joining tickets to what people actually did in the product, which is a different job from resolving them and a different tool. That is what support ticket analysis is for, and it is the layer that turns a cost center into a roadmap input.

It is also the honest argument for looking at the wider category. Zendesk manages the service conversation; customer experience management software manages the whole picture, joining what customers say in tickets, reviews and surveys to what they did before they wrote in. If your ticket volume is rising and nobody can say why, more agent seats is the expensive answer to the wrong question. The practical starting point is reducing support ticket volume at the source rather than staffing up to absorb it.

How to actually budget for Zendesk

Four steps, in this order.

Start from the feature that decides your floor rather than from the cheapest plan. HIPAA, data residency, skills-based routing or an IVR tree all put you on Professional regardless of team size, so establish that first and stop comparing against $19.

Then ask for Suite Growth explicitly if the gap between Team and Professional is where you land. Then get the automated resolution rate and the App Builder, Action Builder and Voice allowances in writing, along with what happens when you exceed them. And finally, price the add-ons you expect to need within a year against the tier that already includes them, because Copilot on Professional and Suite Enterprise are four dollars apart.

Do those four things and the quote you sign will look like the quote you modeled. Skip them and the seat price is a down payment.

All Zendesk figures read first-party from zendesk.com/pricing in August 2026 and verified on two independent fetches. Prices change, so re-check before you sign. Annual discount percentages, per-year totals and add-on stacking totals are our arithmetic on Zendesk's published numbers.
