Short answer

Canny is the cheapest of the three for a small product team with a few hundred engaged customers: Pro starts at $79 a month billed yearly for 100 tracked users and reaches $529 a month at 1,000. Productboard bills per maker, $19 on Plus or $59 on Business billed annually, and its own pricing page gives two different minimums for Business, 2 makers and 5, so the real entry price is $1,416 or $3,540 a year. UserVoice publishes no price and quotes on feedback volume, never per seat. Figures read first-party from a US connection on 19 September 2026.

If you are choosing a feature request tool this quarter, the three names on most shortlists price on three different things. Canny charges for the customers who interact with your feedback board. Productboard charges for the product people who work inside it. UserVoice charges on the volume of feedback and the integrations you connect, and does not publish a number.

That makes the usual comparison articles hard to use, because a figure like "$79 a month" or "$59 per maker" means nothing until you know your own counts. We read all three pricing pages first-party on 19 September 2026 from a US connection, including the price ladder inside Canny's pricing page code and the comparison table under Productboard's plan cards, and priced the same team on each: three product managers and 1,000 customers who give feedback in a year.

Why it works

What your team gets with Canny vs Productboard vs UserVoice pricing

Three tools, three meters

Canny prices on tracked users, the customers who post, vote or comment. Productboard prices on makers, the internal people who manage feedback and roadmaps. UserVoice prices on feedback volume, tools and integrations. The cheapest tool depends on which of those numbers is large at your company.

Productboard prints two minimums

The same Productboard pricing page shows the Business plan with a 2 maker minimum on one plan card and a 5 maker minimum on another view and in the comparison table. That gap moves the lowest possible Business bill from $1,416 to $3,540 a year, so get the minimum in writing.

Canny gets cheaper per customer as you grow

The Canny Pro ladder in the pricing page code runs from $79 for 100 tracked users to $1,079 for 5,000, billed yearly. Each extra tracked user costs about $0.50 a month up to 1,000, then $0.20, then $0.10 above 2,500.

How much does Canny cost?

Canny has three plans on its pricing page. Free is $0 with 25 tracked users, 5 managers, unlimited contributors and unlimited feedback. Pro starts at $79 a month billed yearly, or $99 month to month, for 100 tracked users and 10 managers, and adds project management integrations, advanced privacy, API access and automation rules. Business is custom, starts at 5,000 tracked users, and adds SSO, CRM integrations with HubSpot and Salesforce, custom roles and pay by invoice.

A tracked user is anyone associated with feedback: a customer who creates a post, votes or comments, whether they do it themselves, an admin does it on their behalf, or Canny Autopilot captures it from a support conversation. Canny's own FAQ says a B2B SaaS company typically sees 1% to 5% of its total users become tracked users.

What does Canny Pro cost at 500, 1,000 and 5,000 tracked users?

The pricing page shows a slider, and the ladder behind it is in the page code. Billed yearly, Pro costs $79 a month at 100 tracked users, $279 at 500, $529 at 1,000, $829 at 2,500 and $1,079 at 5,000. Month to month the same rungs cost $99, $349, $661, $1,036 and $1,349. The annual saving is 20% on every rung, which matches the "save up to 20%" line on the page.

The per-customer cost falls quickly. Between 100 and 1,000 tracked users each extra 100 costs $50 a month, about $0.50 per customer. From 1,000 to 2,500 each extra 250 costs $50, about $0.20. Above 2,500 each extra 500 to 1,000 costs $50 to $100, about $0.10. So Canny is expensive per head for a small engaged audience and cheap per head for a large one.

What happens when you go over your Canny tracked user limit?

Canny upgrades you automatically. Its FAQ says that if you have not set a monthly spend limit, you move to the next tier as soon as you pass your limit and pay a prorated amount for the rest of the billing period. If you have set a spend limit, Canny stops tracking feedback from new users once you reach it.

That second behavior deserves thought before you set it. A spend cap protects the budget but means new customers can no longer add their voice to the board, and Autopilot captures from support tools count toward the same meter. Set the cap consciously, and check it again after you connect Intercom, Zendesk or Gong.

How much does Productboard cost?

Productboard has four plans. Free is $0 with 500 feedback notes, 25 contributors, one teamspace, one product portal and 50 AI credits a month. Plus is $19 a maker a month billed annually, or $25 month to month, with 250 AI credits per maker. Business is $59 a maker a month billed annually, or $75 month to month, with unlimited feedback notes, unlimited teamspaces, two portals, 25 contributors and 500 AI credits per maker. Enterprise is custom, with a 5 maker minimum, unlimited contributors, SAML SSO, SCIM, the Salesforce integration and 800 AI credits per maker.

A maker is a full user who manages feedback, prioritizes features or edits roadmaps. Contributors can add feedback and ideas but cannot run the product workspace. The annual discount is advertised as 21%, which is exact on Business ($75 to $59) and slightly better on Plus, at 24% ($25 to $19).

What is the Productboard Business minimum, 2 makers or 5?

Both appear on the same page. On 19 September 2026 Productboard's pricing page showed the Business plan card with "2 makers minimum, billed annually". A second rendering of the Business card on the same page, and the plan comparison table under it, list the minimum as 5 makers.

When we read the same page in August 2026, the comparison table said "2 online, 5 contract": two makers if you buy self-serve, five if you sign through sales. In September the table says 5 with no qualifier, while the self-serve card still says 2. The difference is real money. At the annual rate, 2 makers cost $1,416 a year and 5 makers cost $3,540. Month to month, 5 makers cost $4,500. If you are a team of two or three product managers, buy Business self-serve if you can, and if you go through sales, ask for the 2 maker minimum shown on the plan card in writing.

Is Productboard Plus enough for a growing team?

Only if your feedback volume is small. Plus is described as everything in Free plus AI credits, customer segments, closing the feedback loop and product usage integrations. Unlimited feedback notes are listed as a Business feature, so a Plus workspace is working inside the 500 feedback notes of the free tier.

For a team whose 1,000 engaged customers each leave even one note a year, that limit arrives inside a few months. At that point the real comparison is Business at $59 a maker against Canny Pro at your tracked user count, not Plus at $19.

How much does UserVoice cost?

UserVoice does not publish a price. Its pricing page says plans are based on feedback volume, the tools you use and the integrations you connect, and are "never by seat", so sales, success and product teams can all use the same data without adding cost. The only path to a price is a conversation with its team.

What the page does commit to is the shape of the purchase. A free trial runs 30 days and is set up after a demo. Onboarding typically takes 4 to 6 weeks, with 1 to 2 weeks of technical setup, and is led by a dedicated customer success manager. Bulk import from an old tool is supported by CSV or API. Treat it as an enterprise sale, and budget time for procurement as well as money.

Canny vs Productboard: which is cheaper?

It depends on which of your two numbers is bigger. Canny gets expensive as the number of engaged customers grows, while Productboard gets expensive as the number of product people grows.

For three product managers and 1,000 engaged customers, Canny Pro costs $529 a month billed yearly, $6,348 a year, and includes 10 managers. Productboard Business for three makers costs $2,124 a year if the 2 maker minimum applies and $3,540 if the 5 maker minimum does, and it does not care how many customers give feedback. For ten product managers and 300 engaged customers the order flips: Canny Pro at 300 tracked users is $179 a month, $2,148 a year, while ten Productboard Business makers cost $7,080 a year.

Canny vs UserVoice: which should you pick?

Pick Canny if you want to start today, see the price before you talk to anyone and grow into it. Pick UserVoice if your feedback program spans sales, success and product at a larger company, you want every team to have access without a seat count, and you are prepared for a quoted contract and a 4 to 6 week onboarding.

Both run a public feedback portal, deduplicate requests and push work to tools like Jira. The difference is how you buy them: one is self-serve with a published ladder, the other is a procurement conversation.

What none of the three tells you

A feature request board tells you what customers asked for and how many voted. It does not tell you whether the people asking are the ones who churn, how that request relates to what your support team is hearing, or what usage shows about the feature that already exists.

UserInsight reads support tickets, app reviews, survey answers and product usage together, groups them into named themes with counts, and ranks each theme by how many users and accounts it touches. The top request on your board then arrives with the tickets and usage that explain it. Keep whichever board fits your budget for collecting votes, and use UserInsight to decide which of those requests actually moves retention.

Good questions

Questions about Canny vs Productboard vs UserVoice pricing

For a small product team with a small engaged audience, yes. Canny Pro starts at $79 a month billed yearly for 100 tracked users. For a small team with a large audience, Productboard is often cheaper, because it charges per maker, $59 a month on Business, and does not meter customers. At 1,000 tracked users Canny Pro costs $529 a month.
Yes, on Business and Enterprise. Enterprise requires 5 makers. For Business, Productboard's own pricing page showed both a 2 maker minimum on the self-serve plan card and a 5 maker minimum in its comparison table on 19 September 2026, which puts the lowest annual Business bill at $1,416 or $3,540. Confirm the minimum in writing before you sign.
UserVoice does not publish a price. It quotes after a demo, based on feedback volume, the tools you use and the integrations you connect, and it states that it never prices by seat. A 30-day trial is available once a demo is booked, and onboarding typically takes 4 to 6 weeks.
A tracked user is anyone associated with feedback: a person who creates a post, votes or comments, including actions an admin takes on their behalf and feedback Canny Autopilot captures from support and sales conversations. Canny says 1% to 5% of a B2B SaaS company's users typically become tracked users.
Canny and Productboard both have one. Canny Free covers 25 tracked users and 5 managers with unlimited feedback. Productboard Free covers 500 feedback notes, 25 contributors and 50 AI credits a month. UserVoice has no free plan, only a 30-day trial arranged after a demo.
For a larger company that wants every team to access feedback without paying per seat, UserVoice is the closest alternative, priced on feedback volume and integrations. For a company whose product team runs roadmaps and prioritization in the same tool, Productboard Business or Enterprise is the usual choice, priced per maker.
