Mouseflow Pricing: Mouseflow Cost Per Session, Every Plan, and What Happens When Your Sessions Run Out

Mouseflow runs from 500 free sessions to $319 a month for 100,000, with unlimited users on every plan. The advertised 35% annual discount only holds on the cheapest plan, recording stops at the cap, and renewals reprice. Every rung, per session.

Mouseflow pricing runs from a free plan with 500 sessions a month to Premium at $319 a month billed annually ($3,828 a year) for 100,000 sessions, with Essential at $25 and Advanced at $109 in between. Month to month the same three plans cost $39, $149 and $399. Every plan includes unlimited users, and Enterprise is quoted. Read first-party from Mouseflow's pricing page and terms from a US connection on 18 September 2026, the details that change the bill are elsewhere: the annual discount shrinks as you climb, tracking stops when your sessions run out, and the terms let Mouseflow reprice at renewal.

How much does Mouseflow cost?

Mouseflow sells four self-serve plans and a quoted Enterprise tier. Each paid plan has a monthly and an annual price, and the plans differ in four things: monthly sessions, website projects, conversion funnels and how long your data is kept.

PlanMonth to monthBilled annuallyPer year (annual)Sessions a monthWebsite projectsFunnelsRetention

Premium$399$319$3,828100,00051012 months

Users are unlimited on every row, free included. That single line is why Mouseflow often wins a budget review against tools that price per seat: adding the support team, the designers and a product manager to the account costs nothing.

What does Mouseflow cost per session?

Mouseflow costs between $0.0032 and $0.0078 per recorded session, depending on plan and billing cycle. On annual billing, Essential works out to $0.0050 a session, Advanced to $0.0044 and Premium to $0.0032. Month to month, the same plans cost $0.0078, $0.0060 and $0.0040 a session.

The unit price falls as you climb, but slowly. Going from Essential to Premium on annual billing cuts the cost per session by about 36% while multiplying the invoice by almost 13. If your traffic sits between two rungs, recording a sample of sessions on the lower plan is usually cheaper than buying capacity you will only use in a good month.

Is the Mouseflow annual discount really 35%?

Only on Essential. The pricing page advertises "Save up to 35%" for annual billing, and on Essential the saving is actually 35.9%, from $39 to $25. On Advanced it is 26.8%, from $149 to $109. On Premium it is 20.1%, from $399 to $319.

So the discount gets smaller as the plan gets bigger, which is the opposite of how most buyers model it. If you are building a budget for Premium, use 20%. Paying Premium month to month for a year costs $4,788, or $960 more than paying annually. On Essential the gap is $168 a year, small enough that month to month is a reasonable way to test before committing.

What happens when you run out of Mouseflow sessions?

Recording stops. Mouseflow's own pricing FAQ says your account gets a refill of sessions each month according to your plan, and when you run out, all tracking stops until the next refill date, unless you manually request a refill or upgrade from the dashboard. There is no automatic overage charge on a standard plan.

That protects your invoice and costs you data. A traffic spike from a launch, a sale or a press mention is exactly when you want recordings, and it is also when a capped plan runs dry mid-month. If your traffic is uneven, set up sampling so the allowance lasts the whole cycle, and check the remaining balance before any campaign you plan to study.

The terms add one caveat. They allow "extraordinary costs" such as extra credits, high traffic and support to be added, and they state that recording or API use that continues after termination is still billed. If you cancel, remove the tracking script from your site the same day.

Is Mouseflow priced in dollars or euros?

Either, according to Mouseflow's terms, which say fees are quoted and payable in euros or US dollars. The pricing page itself prints plan prices with no currency symbol, and the structured data on the same page declares the prices in euros, including when the page is requested from the United States. For a US company that is a small but real point: confirm the currency on the checkout screen before a figure goes into a purchase request, because the same number in euros costs more than it does in dollars.

What does the Mouseflow free trial include?

Fourteen days of full-feature access with no credit card, according to Mouseflow's pricing FAQ. The trial carries 2,000 sessions, 5 website projects, 10 funnels and 1 month of data retention, and it includes session replay, heatmaps, funnels, form analytics, feedback surveys, journey analytics and friction detection.

When the trial ends you either upgrade from the dashboard or fall back to the free plan at 500 sessions a month with limited features. Because the trial includes Premium-level projects and funnels, set a reminder to check which of them you actually used before choosing a plan. Most teams need fewer funnels than the trial lets them build.

Can you get a refund from Mouseflow?

Only in one case. First-time annual subscribers on a standard plan get a 14-day money-back guarantee, and Enterprise plans are excluded. Outside that window the terms say all payment obligations are non-cancellable and all fees paid are non-refundable, and monthly plans are not covered by the guarantee at all.

Subscriptions also renew automatically for a term equal to the one that is ending, and renewal pricing is whatever Mouseflow charges on the renewal date. The terms say you will be told about material changes before renewal and can switch plans or cancel for the end of the term. Put the renewal date in a calendar the day you sign, particularly on an annual plan.

Mouseflow vs Hotjar and Smartlook: is Mouseflow the cheaper choice?

For most paying teams it is now the most predictable one, mainly because its two usual rivals have changed. Hotjar's pricing page permanently redirects to Contentsquare, which gives 200,000 sessions a month free, far more than Mouseflow's 500, and charges from $49 a month on Growth. Our Hotjar pricing guide covers that plan ladder and its separate survey subscription. Smartlook reached End of Sale in May 2026 and stopped renewals in August, so it is not a purchase option at all.

If you are choosing between them, or replacing Smartlook before its last paid plans end, the Hotjar vs Mouseflow vs Smartlook pricing comparison puts all three on one cost-per-session table with the Smartlook wind-down dates. For product teams comparing replay tools built for apps rather than marketing sites, LogRocket vs Fullstory covers the other end of the market.

Which Mouseflow plan should you buy?

Essential if you are studying one checkout or signup flow on one site, since it gives you one funnel and three months of history for $300 a year. Advanced once you run two sites or need to compare several funnels, and six months of retention lets you look at a full quarter before and after a change. Premium when a team goes back to old recordings often, because twelve months of retention is the only plan that keeps a full year of seasonality.

Whichever you pick, keep in mind what the tool measures. Mouseflow's friction detection and JavaScript error tracking tell you that sessions containing errors happened and let you watch them. They will not tell you within seconds that your site or checkout API has gone down at 2 a.m.; that is a job for dedicated uptime monitoring that checks the endpoint itself.

What session replay alone will not tell you

A recording shows what one visitor did, and a heatmap shows where a thousand of them clicked. Neither explains why they left. That reason is usually written down somewhere else, in a support ticket, an app store review or an open-text survey answer that nobody has had time to read.

UserInsight reads those sources together with product usage, groups them into named themes with counts, and ranks each theme by how many users and accounts it touches. The drop-off you spot in Mouseflow then comes with the complaint that explains it, traced back to the actual tickets and answers. Keep Mouseflow for watching sessions and use UserInsight for the question the sessions raise. The session replay page shows how the two fit together.
