SurveySparrow's survey plans cost $19, $30 and $60 a month billed yearly for Basic, Starter and Business, which is $228, $360 and $720 a year, read from a US connection on 28 September 2026. The same plans cost $39, $59 and $149 a month billed quarterly, so paying quarterly roughly doubles the bill and on Basic and Starter buys fewer responses. Business is the only plan with more than one user (three), extra users are $49 a month each, and Enterprise is quoted. Vendr puts the median SurveySparrow contract at $22,374 a year.

How much does SurveySparrow cost?

SurveySparrow sells several products from one pricing page, each on its own tab: Surveys, CX Suite for NPS, CSAT and CES programs, Brand for reviews and social listening, Research, Documents and 360 Assessment. This guide covers the Surveys product, which is what most buyers mean by SurveySparrow pricing and the only tab most people ever price.

There are four paid survey plans and a Forever Free plan. The billing toggle offers only two options, quarterly and yearly. There is no month-to-month plan.

PlanBilled yearlyBilled quarterlyResponsesUsers
Basic$19 / month ($228 / year)$39 / month ($468 / year)2,500 / year, or 600 / quarter1
Starter$30 / month ($360 / year), shown against a struck-through $39$59 / month ($708 / year)15,000 / year, or 3,600 / quarter1
Business$60 / month ($720 / year), shown against a struck-through $79$149 / month ($1,788 / year)36,000 / year, or 9,000 / quarter3

Prices were read in USD from a US connection. The same page served from a European connection shows the same numbers in euros, so if a colleague abroad sends you a screenshot, check the currency before you compare.

SurveySparrow also lists its Basic plan on AWS Marketplace, sold by SurveySparrow, at $39 a month or $228 for 12 months. Those match the website's quarterly monthly rate and its yearly total exactly, which is a useful cross-check: the yearly figure is the real list price, not a limited promotion that only exists on one page.

Is SurveySparrow cheaper billed yearly or quarterly?

Yearly, by a wide margin, and the gap is larger than the struck-through prices suggest. Here is what a year costs on each billing option, and what it buys.

PlanYear, billed yearlyYear, billed quarterlyQuarterly premiumResponses in a year, quarterly
Basic$228$468105% more2,400 (vs 2,500 yearly)
Starter$360$70897% more14,400 (vs 15,000 yearly)
Business$720$1,788148% more36,000 (same)

Two things stand out. On Business, quarterly billing costs two and a half times as much for exactly the same allowance. On Basic and Starter, quarterly billing costs about twice as much and gives you slightly fewer responses, because the quarterly allowances (600 and 3,600) add up to less than the yearly ones. There is no case in the table where quarterly is the better deal. It only makes sense if you genuinely need to walk away after three months.

The struck-through prices on Starter and Business ($39 and $79) are not the quarterly rates, which are $59 and $149. Measured against what you would actually pay quarterly, the yearly option saves about half on Basic and Starter and 60% on Business, much more than the "sale" badge implies.

What does SurveySparrow cost per response?

Dividing each yearly plan by its allowance gives the unit cost, and it is what you should compare against other survey tools.

Plan (billed yearly)Cost per yearResponses per yearCost per response
Basic$2282,500$0.091
Starter$36015,000$0.024
Business$72036,000$0.020
Basic, billed quarterly$4682,400$0.195

Basic is the worst value on the ladder: $132 more a year buys Starter and six times the responses. Anyone expecting more than about 1,000 responses a year should skip Basic entirely.

For context against the vendors buyers usually compare it with: SurveyMonkey Advantage Annual works out to about $0.018 a response at $276 for 15,000, so it edges out SurveySparrow Starter for a single user. Alchemer's Collaborator license, at $315 a year for 75,000 responses, is far cheaper per response at about $0.004, and QuestionPro Advanced is about $0.048. We put Alchemer, QuestionPro and Qualtrics side by side in our Alchemer vs Qualtrics vs QuestionPro pricing comparison, and SurveyMonkey, Typeform and Qualtrics in our SurveyMonkey vs Typeform vs Qualtrics pricing breakdown.

What is included in each SurveySparrow plan?

The plans differ by more than responses. The usage limits table on the pricing page sets the other caps that tend to bite first.

Feature-wise, Basic covers email distribution, partial responses, display and skip logic and Slack. Starter adds survey embedding in email, translation, post-survey redirects and HubSpot. Business adds custom branding, advanced question types, workflows and webhooks, respondent location and Zendesk. Enterprise adds CSS customization, auto-translation into 130+ languages, custom dashboard widgets, key driver analysis, HIPAA compliance where available and Power BI.

Two limits are worth reading twice. Every self-serve plan allows only one active CX survey, meaning one live NPS, CSAT or CES program, so a team running relationship NPS and a post-ticket CSAT at the same time is already outside the survey plans and into the CX Suite tab. And custom branding starts at Business, so a single user who needs branded surveys pays for three seats.

How much does SurveySparrow cost for a team?

Business is the only self-serve plan with more than one user, and it includes three. Additional users are an add-on at $49 per user per month. That produces an awkward step:

  • Three users on Business, billed yearly: $720 a year.
  • Four users: $720 plus $588 for the extra seat, about $1,308 a year. The fourth seat costs 82% of the whole plan.
  • Six users: $720 plus $1,764, about $2,484 a year.

At five or six users it is worth asking for an Enterprise quote rather than stacking add-on seats, because Enterprise is priced as a package and seats are where the add-on pricing hurts most.

The contract data points the same way. Vendr, which negotiates software purchases for buyers and publishes aggregate figures, lists a median SurveySparrow contract of $22,374 a year, with a range of $10,000 to $22,919, and does not print a deal count. That median is about 31 times the Business plan's yearly price. The buyers in Vendr's data are almost all on Enterprise or on the CX and research products, not on the self-serve survey plans.

What happens if you go over your SurveySparrow response limit?

SurveySparrow counts responses per respondent, and a partial response counts the same as a complete one. When you exceed your plan's limit, the pricing FAQ says you contact SurveySparrow to buy additional responses. There is no published per-response overage rate, and the page adds that unused purchased responses expire with your billing cycle, so buying a large block near the end of a yearly term wastes whatever you do not use.

The practical advice is to size the plan on the higher of your expected response count and your expected email volume, since the emails cap (7,500 on Basic, 45,000 on Starter) can run out before responses do on email-heavy programs.

Does SurveySparrow have a free trial?

Yes. The trial runs 14 days without a credit card and unlocks Business plan features, limited to 50 responses. When it ends, the account drops to the Forever Free plan, which allows 75 responses a quarter, 3 active surveys and 10 questions per survey. That is enough to test the builder, not to run a program, so plan to decide during the trial window.

SurveySparrow also runs three discount programs listed on the pricing page: a startup program advertising $2,000 of credit for $500, 50% off for students, and 15% off for nonprofit organizations.

Can you cancel SurveySparrow anytime?

You can cancel at any time, and the cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle. There is no long-term commitment beyond the quarter or year you paid for. Payment is by card (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, Amex, Diners Club), and SurveySparrow takes check, wire or ACH on request through support, which matters for US companies that pay software by invoice. It will also supply a W-9 on request.

Is SurveySparrow worth it?

For a small US team that wants conversational, mobile-friendly surveys and can commit to a year, the Starter and Business plans are fairly priced: $360 to $720 a year, around two cents a response, with no seat games up to three users. It is weaker value on Basic, on quarterly billing, and for teams of four to six, where add-on seats pile up quickly.

It is also a different product from the tools on its other tabs. If what you need is a structured 360 review or a culture and process diagnostic rather than a customer survey, a dedicated organizational assessment platform is usually a better fit than a survey tool's add-on module.

Whichever tool collects the answers, the harder part is reading them. A CSAT or NPS program on SurveySparrow produces thousands of written comments, and SurveySparrow's key driver analysis sits on the Enterprise tier. UserInsight reads every open-text answer, groups the recurring themes, and joins them to support tickets, reviews and product usage from the same customers, so you can see which issue is behind a falling score. Teams use it with customer satisfaction survey software they already own, and it works as survey analysis software for exports from any of these tools. Plans start at $199 a month billed annually.

Where these numbers came from

SurveySparrow prices, limits, add-ons and FAQ terms were read first-party from surveysparrow.com/pricing on 28 September 2026 through a browser session on a US connection, with both billing options selected in turn. The AWS Marketplace figures were read from SurveySparrow's own listing (prodview-impaofvmoogne) the same day. The contract median is third-party data from Vendr and is labeled as such. Comparison figures for SurveyMonkey come from our SurveyMonkey pricing guide, and for Alchemer and QuestionPro from their pricing pages, read the same day.
